이번 아마도 예술공간에서 아시아 시장을 대상으로 하는 국제 사진 공모전을 개최합니다. 사진의 발명 이후 170여 년의 시간 동안 사진은 예술의 중요한 매체로 자리잡게 되었습니다. 과거의 사실성과 기록성을 근간으로 성립된 20세기 사진의 개념은 디지털 시대에 전혀 다른 새로운 패러다임으로 확장, 발전되고 있습니다.

21세기 디지털 테크놀로지의 발달은 사진작업에 있어서 작가의 제작방식뿐 아니라 작품 속 허구의 공간과 실제의 공간의 전복을 가능케 하면서 작품의 내러티브에도 영향을 주게 됩니다. 또한 현실을 조작하고 작가만의 세상을 재현해냄으로써 디지털 사진의 매체적 성격을 한층 확장시키게 됩니다. 이 시점에서 디지털 테크놀로지로 상징되는 전자 복제 및 재현방식에 대한 근본적인 재검토가 필요합니다. 이번 아마도 사진상에서는 이렇게 변화, 발전하는 사진이라는 장르의 정의를 재해석하고 재정립하여 21세기 사진의 확장된 개념의 새로운 사진 언어를 탐구하는 장을 마련하고자 합니다.

◇모집개요

③ 대상: 40세 미만의 국내 및 아시아 국적의 작가
④ 선정인원: 1 명
⑤ 총 예산:
-1만 U.S달러(한화 약 1000만원)-(Art Production Fee와 상금 포함)
-그 외 도록, 홍보 인쇄물, 장소 제공 등 지원

◇공모 목적
① 아시아 시장을 대상으로 하는 국제 사진 공모전 개최

① 1차 심사: 포트폴리오 심사
② 2차 심사: 면접(프리젠테이션 형식)

                                                   Amado Photography award

We are searching for the new generation of talented Asian photographers/Artist for this international competition.

Since its beginning, Photography has established itself as an important medium for the modern world. Its solid foundation of recordable realism in the 20th Century is now expanding and developing into a new and exciting paradigm in this digital era.

The advent of digital photography in the 21st Century not only advanced the methods and techniques and production of photography but also provided photographers and artists to utilize and manipulate the medium never deemed possible before. By controlling and influencing the real with the unreal, photographers/artists have been able to advance the world of modern photography and its meaning in the art world today.

In this regard, it seems necessary to re-examine the influences of digital photography in its ability to reproduce and manipulate digital imagery. This competition therefore searches and open doors for photographers and artists to showcase the advance of photography as well as redefining and rediscovering the genre.

◇ Outline of Award:
①Title: Amado Photography Award
②Genre: Photography
③Target Entry: Photographers/Artists with domestic or Asian nationality below 40 years of age.
④Number of winner: 1
⑤Winning Prize:
-10,000 U.S dollars (Including Art production fee and Prize money)
-Fee of production of pamphlets, publication of print-outs, provision of exhibition space will be supported.

◇Contest Objective:
①Host of Amado International photography contest with Photographers/Artists of Asian origin.
②Fundamental review of photography in the digital era of the 21st Century
③Provision of dialogues for photographers to analysis and reestablish the photographic genre of our time

②2nd Process : Interview Presentation
