미학자, 비평가, 미술사학자, 큐레이터, 문화비평가 등 우리 미술 학계와 현장에서 부단한 연구와 실천을 수행하고 있는 39명으로부터 아직 국내에 번역되진 않았으나, 적극 발굴될 가치가 있는 미술 관련 국외 저작물-책, 논문, 전시도록 총 55권을 추천받아, 각 책이 점하고 있는 중요성의 좌표를 제시하는 추천자들의 ‘한마디’와 함께 그 내용을 간추려 소개하는 지면을 마련했습니다. 그러한 책들의 범주는 미학, 미술사, 미술비평, 문화비평 등 이론과 현장 전반을 아우릅니다. 언어의 장벽을 넘어 접하면 좋을 예술 관련 사상들의 소개를 통해 《아티클》은 국내의 미술 담론 생태를 보다 풍성하게 만들고 인식의 새로운 접면을 제시하는 ‘촉매’ 역할이 되고자 합니다. 더불어 이를 계기로 미래에 보다 열정 있는 미술 연구자 및 향유자들에 의한 직접적인 독서나 번역으로까지 이어짐으로써, 광범위한 지식 생산자 집단과 독자층, 출판 장과 미디어 장을 포괄하는 지식의 재구성과 재생산에 의미 있는 연결고리가 형성되길 희망합니다.
