About the artist
Bato Dugarzhapov's paintings attract by their light attitude towards the life, their style and colouring. It is clearly displayed in his landscapes in which he managed to express tenderness, delicacy and charm of the nature. His landscapes plunged into the special luminous environment, testify to the great painting culture of the artist, to his profound understanding the color and space relations. Delicate haze of dawns, loveliness of quiet evenings, mystery of twilight... It is Russia that is poetically reflected in the paintings by the artist.
While some paintings are remarkable for their freshness, musical rhythm of lines and spots of color, the others are characterized by emotional tension, romantic elation and profound understanding the color and space relations. With unusual ease and grace he creates a full artistic image of the nature, an intact image seen and revealed in the color, light and the thrill of life. Everything is sparkling in the sun rays, even in the shadow reflections are twinkling. Paints, spread freely, cover one another, conflict and form together a colorful ensemble in which special emphasis is put on the modulations of the color shades. The painter seems to create the beauty of the world before the viewers very eyes, building up the effect ofpres ence. Unique beauty of the color, harmony of the paints, brilliant reproduction of the light make paintings excitingly charming. Gentle air has softened bright color of the bushes and intensive green of the grass. White, lilac and pink flowers of the lilac bush look as if they were covered by a slightest layer: haze of the dust. An armchair, a table, an umbrella and a snow white bird blend easily with the bright green of the grass.
The landscapes arrests our attention and stays in the memory for a long time, raising before our eyes again and again. And it, probably, there is a force of true talent.
Its color composition is based on the consonance of several shades, striking with their freshness and purity. Houses, boats and trees on the bank are looking at their twinkling smooth reflections. The sky and the water merge in one element. We are attracted by an unexpected novelty of the view, which not only bears bright light, brilliance of the water and festive, as it were, movement but also fascinates by the emotional power of the vivid visual impression... Being deeply in love with the surrounding world, the painter attempts to stir up the same feeling of the viewer. His paintings create spiritual poetic and even magic world. His people are leisurely and thoughtful, his landscapes are quiet and meditative and the elements of the nature (the sky, the earth, the water) merge in one harmonious unity. They are emotionally charged and appealing because of the harmony of perception, love to a depicted object, combination of the concrete and romantic. They constitute a wide range of nuances of perception from lyrical peace to the exuberant cheerfulness.
